Crew/Employee Relationships
The Crew/Employee Relationships page allows you to examine all of the crews that an employee is a member of and manage the user's crew parameters.
The Crew/Employee Relationships page also allows you to define a crew member's labor rates. Usually, a user who is a member of a crew charges his labor at the defined crew labor rates. However, a particular member of a crew might be a specialist or a junior team member who charges at a higher or lower rate. This page allows you to override the crew labor rates for a particular user. In addition, when a user becomes a member of a crew, his default labor rates are no longer defined on the Edit User page, they are defined here. His default labor rates are the rates defined for his default crew.
To open the Crew/Employee Relationships page:
-
Open the Administration Menu page.
-

To add the selected user to a crew:
- In the Add Crew field, select the crew you want to add the user to.
-

The selected crew is added to the user's crew list. If the user is a member of only one crew, it is selected as his default crew.
To view crew/employee relationships:
-
Click the Employee Name Select link to find and select an employee.
A list of all of the crews that the user is a member of appears.
The following information is displayed for each crew the user is a member of. You can update some of this information, if needed.
- Crew Name – This field lists the name of the crew that the employee is a member of. If the user is the leader of the crew, an asterisk is displayed next to the crew name.
- Default Crew – This field indicates whether the specified crew is the user's default crew. The default crew defines the user's default labor rates for work requests. A user can have one (and only one) default crew.
- Use Crew Rates – This field indicates whether the crew labor rates should apply for this user when he does work as a member of this crew. If you clear this check box, the rate fields become editable, allowing you to override the crew labor rates for this user.
- Regular, Overtime (OT), and Double Overtime (DT) – If you clear the User Crew Rates check box, you can enter labor rates for this user. The labor rates you enter will be used for this user only when he is performing work as a member of the selected crew. If the selected crew is his default crew, the labor rates you enter will be this user's default labor rates when he is performing work with his default crew or work not associated with a crew.

You can delete the selected user from any crew that he is a member of, unless any of the following circumstances apply:
-
If the user has any open work orders assigned to him as a member of the crew you cannot delete him from the crew. You must first reassign or close those work orders. For more information about reassigning or closing multiple work orders, see Work Order Mass Update.
-
If the user is the leader of the selected crew, you must first assign a new leader on the Crews page before deleting him from the crew.
-
If the selected crew is the user's default crew, you must first select a new default crew unless you are deleting him from all crews.
To delete the selected user from one or more crews:
-
Select the Delete check boxes preceding the crews you want to delete the user from.
Selecting the Delete all check box at the top of the list selects all crews in the list; clearing it clears all the check boxes. You can use the Delete all check box to select all crews and then manually clear the ones you do not want to delete.
-
Click UPDATE.
The selected crews are removed from the list.
